He may have been on of the worst presidents the US has endured but the author does a good job of giving him as much of a fair shake as possible It s a brisk run through the four year term and focuses mainly on Buchanan s role in the secession of the Confederacy whilst still giving a full picture of his life I was afraid going into this that it would be a slog to get thru base don the subject matter but I was pleasantly surprised.
