    2. Broad overview from an earlier time It s quickly obvious this summary of the Girl Scouts was written years ago, based on the way certain roles are described It s a very general overview of how the organization came to be, and how it was structured There is some interesting and relevant child psychology offered as well, and their views on testing are very progressive.

Timely reminder of Scouting s ProgressivismWhat a wonderful and precious little piece of history This handbook was written when Ms Low was still the organization s president and WWI was still being referred to as The Great War It s tips for excellent Troop leadership reflects the best practices we know from educational research today No wonder Girl Scouting has produced so many women in leadership They ve been doing it right all along

    5. An okay book, but REALLY, REALLY short I was hoping to learn about the actual history of the GS, but this book didn t really go into that I did go into some of the current at the time practices, which was unique to learn about.
