    1. Reading other reviews shows me that I am not alone in my confusion about this book It was a struggle for me to get through, although I was somewhat intrigued by its premise There are so many jumps in time sequence and so little that actually happens or is explained that it just felt like work. There was some sex stuff and some profanities, which means that I would have a difficult time giving this book to any of my students The complexity of the plot line would also give me pause about recommendi [...]

    2. May and probably does contain spoilers.I have spent the last few hours detoxing from my rapid reading of Ghost Time I seriously needed to wrap my brain around all that I consumed Then I found I really needed to get these words on paper or I will never get to sleep tonight First off this is not a book for young teenagers Besides the fact profanity is constantly lobbed at you in word bomb form, there is also sex between an 15 and 18 year old couple I just don t think this is a subject appropriatel [...]

    3. This book blew me away Plain and Simple Any expectations I may have had could not be compared to what I experienced reading this It s one of those books that you love so much that you feel the need to recommend it to absolutely everyone you know, and maybe even some people you don t So, why am I not calling every one of my second cousins twice removed to tell them about it This book is not going to be one that everyone will love. Not like I did.I have tried and tried to put words together in a wa [...]

    4. I have no idea how I feel about this book Seriously If you d asked me in the first chapter, I would have said, eh, I m not so sure about this stream of consciousness thing But then if you asked me how I felt about chapter 2 through about the three quarter mark, I would ve given this book 5 stars Gripping doesn t even begin to describe it, and the writing transformed into something magical Courtney Eldridge can WRITE, that s for sure Then, from about 75% to about 95%, I would give this book 4, 4 [...]

    6. See of my reviews at We Live and Breathe BooksI must admit, when I started reading Ghost Time, I was very put off by the writing style I found Thea s shallow, valley girl speech quite off putting However, as the plot progressed and we started to see some depth in Thea, I found myself and drawn into this story.I received an uncorrected proof of Ghost Time from Children s Publishing at Book Expo America, and I was very excited to start it after reading the blurb math genius hacker, the voice of [...]

    7. I had such high hopes for this one based off of the premises that that very well may have been where I went wrong with this one I loved the cover, I loved the sound of it and I was excited to read something different and slightly conspiracy theory creepy good. What I wasn t expecting was the style of writing I received when opening the pages I admit, I tolerate a lot in the YA genre, the drama, the immaturity, the love triangles and even the come here push away relationships that so many of them [...]

    8. I don t really know what to say about this book, except that I loved it It is a psych thriller at its finest Like Insanity and Tomomi Ishikawa you kind of just let the story unfold on its own, and accept that 90% of it will leave you scratching your head still, with all that confusion, this is a fascinating story that is easy to get into It s written in the stream of consciousness of a 15 year old girl, and the story goes back and forth between before and after his disappearance That s probably [...]

    9. So, I think I will remember this book.Let me start with the cons For what it was, it was too long There are long detailed scenes described between our heroine, Thea and her boyfriend Cam that did not progress the plot in anyway They were cute and showed a picture of their love and relationship, but it was too much As all the other reviews explain, the book is told as though Thea is personally telling us a story It is full of so then I go, oh my god, you can t be serious and Like, she was totally [...]

    10. There better be another book 12 56am I mean it Ghost Time is a quantum time travel, or mind travel, or possibly even alien thriller written from the perspective of the person left behind, Thea Because of that point of view, it is a mystery that never really gets fully resolved It has copious dialogue with zero quotation marks, and several people may be speaking within a paragraph If you are a left brain reader with a rules based expectation of punctuation, this might be a difficult read for you [...]

    11. I received this book ARC edition that was provided by NetGalley and Children s Publishing in exchange for my honest review Publication Date June 11, 2013.Where do I start with this book First let me say I am rating it as 3 1 2 stars and not 3 Half the time I was confused which I think was mostly because of the chapters They were put into time frames as before Cam s disappearance and after it, and I seemed to get a bit lost with that Another thing that bothered me was the so called valley girl ta [...]

    12. Interesting concept, but I REALLY hate when a story has a completely obscure ending The first 3 4 of the story focuses on the main character, her relationship with her boyfriend, his mysterious disappearance, and the weird instances subsequently happening The last 1 4 of the book I couldn t even tell you what it was really about The story ends very abruptly and the last sentence is an attempt at being clever and ironic that seems way too contrived, in my opinion Good book up until the end, where [...]

    14. Ghost Time was another book that Literary Lushes put on an ARC tour I read the description and thought it sounded interesting, so I signed up.As soon as I cracked open Ghost Time, I knew that it was going to take a while to get into The writing style is very strange For one thing, and what was the most irritating, there were no quotation marks Ghost Time was narrated in first person, so sometimes, it was really hard to tell whether Thea was thinking or speaking For example I go, All right, all r [...]

    15. I am not sure exactly what I think about this book It was very different and unusual And a lot of things happen that don t make sense. The narrator is Thea a 15 year old Sopho She loves to draw and take photographs Her boyfriend is Cam, an 18 year old math genius hacker who is a senior in high school.First off this book is advertised as YA I would say it should be marketed as a mature YA read There are a lot of difficult topics discussed And the main character is 15 years old and having sex I m [...]

    17. Looking for something a little dark, a little mysterious and a little creepy Of course, there is a lot to choose from, but, trust me, you will want to put Ghost Time at the top of the list Author Courtney Eldridge has a hit on her hands with this one Thea, social outcast, fifteen, finds real love with genius older guy, Cam, who is new to town and her school Their attraction seems so real, but, yes, I m pulling the Mom Card out again, we have a pretty big age maturity gap here Okay, card put away [...]

    18. OVERALL IMPRESSION What That s what I said to myself as soon as I finished reading this.It took me a little bit to get used to the writing we hear Thea s scattered thoughts, it was a little annoying to me, but I adjusted eventually. The whole story line captivated me I was really interested in finding out what happened to Cam and why all of the strange things were happening throughout the story The timeline jumps back and forth starting from the disappearance of Cam and going backward and forward [...]

    19. Pros This is one of the few books that I thought really pulled off the time switch without being confusing What helped was that the author added the time lapsed ex six weeks before, three months after, etc and the exact date and time of that chapter onto the heading, which allowed the reader not to be thrown off course. The author made the relationship between the artistic and tortured Thea and the gorgeous and math whiz Cam realistic, no matter how generic the concept was.Cons The back cover is [...]

    20. I have had a little bit of difficulty deciding how to review this book without filling it with spoilers I adored it from the start, right up until the very end I did a little research and found out that this is the first book in a trilogy, which now makes sense. This is a young adult book about a teenager, Thea, who is having a hard time believing that her previous math tutor slash new boyfriend Cam really wants to be with her She s never really had a boyfriend before, and he s older, but it sure [...]

    21. Overall I liked this book it is a different concept than what has been seen in YA recently My main complaint about the story is that it is scheduled to be a trilogyd I have an issue with the spreading thin of a story line just to produce books why do in three books, what you can do in two or possibly one BIG book I have concerns that this may be the case with the Saccades Trilogy However, I won t truly know if this is the situation until the next book comes out sigh Again I stated in my Wither r [...]

Summary fairly vague, sorry Thea s boyfriend Cam has disappeared He hasn t left much behind and no one knows what has happened Things start to pop up in popular media online, and Thea has to wonder if Cam is sending her messages or if someone is screwing with her Some of what shows up wasn t even made by the two of them sexual films definitely come to get you Then, she notices a strange glowing tattoo on her shoulder What is going on My thoughts Unfortunately, the what is going on question goes [...]

This is probably one of the strangest books I ve read I really liked the plot, I thought it was really interesting and constantly wanted to know why everything was happening Unfortunately for me, I guess I have to wait for the next book to come out because this one did not answer a thing Not one thing Leaving me extremely angry at it Anywho I also liked how the events in this book could probably never happen in real life, yet the characters reactions all seem so real However, in addition to the [...]

    25. I received this book as part of the Free Reads program of Good Reads. The writing itself, or craft of this story was excellent, and a truer account of a bright, disturbed adolescent would be difficult to find. But I wanted of a resolution solution to the story line.Even if the reading level was not too high for my 8th graders, I couldn t consider even giving this book to them or to the guidance counselor to share.Besides the active sex life of the main character which to be honest is realistic th [...]

I received this ARC through ARCycling, so I was really upset the first time I tried reading it and just couldn t get through it At the time I thought it was just because I only wanted to read contemp romance, but even now when I ve been mostly in the mood for paranormal romance, I just couldn t get into it I believe it was the writing style More so with the chapters It seemed like every one was tw hours ahead and then there was the occasional ones with days and then some with weeks later Honestl [...]

I had to take breaks from this book The stream of consciousness narrative wasn t doing it for me I had to step away from Thea and go read another book or three before I could come back. And I had to keep coming back because I wanted answers I just COULDN T connect with the writing style. But, there was something about the concept I had to know what was happening I had to get to the conclusion So, of course, that pull was a huge plus And that pull is also what made this a 3 star read for me Another [...]

    30. I won this book from a giveaway Try as I might, I cannot get into this book The copy I received has no page numbers, so I cannot tell you how far into I got, but I must admit it was only maybe a third of the book The fact that there was no quotation marks confused me it s quite possibly the reason I disliked this book So much The chapters jumped around, and it was hard to make a connection to any of the characters I must say, I was very disappointed because the synopsis of this book was great.
