8-1

Well, we are now 8-1 and we are doing quite well. We still have a lot to work on if we can get all 15 players playing together and on the same page but I'm sure we can get there!

Bring on next week vs Huddersfield. I think this could be tougher than the first two matches but who knows how they will play?

I've also updated the team photo with the one taken on Saturday.

Tilly

Well we had a big match this last weekend and although we won it. It wasn't the most impressive victory. I felt we had much more to give and I really hope we work on this over this week's training sessions.

Garnet is away so we really need to work hard and come together as a team and really show what we can do as a team.

Looking forward to the weekend as it will be a tough one but still very confident going into the weekend.

Tilly

Gutted

Well, we almost did it. We should have won that match. We had them but we just turned the ball over too much early on. If we had played in the 1st half like we did in the 2nd half then we would have won that match.

I'm just gutted but well done to Mansfield, they seemed to want it more than us and I think it will give some of our players a wake-up call that was needed to show them what we need to do in order win games against the better teams in our league.

In the end I think this loss might help us as I think we have had a really easy start to the season. I'm pretty sure that next week will also be a tough one as Bradford Dragons are meant to be a very good team with an excellent guard playing for them.

Come on the Saints!!

Tilly

Double Header Weekend

Hi Sports Fans,

We've had a decent start to the season, as good as can be expected given our comparatively short pre-season, but this is an important weekend for us. The game on Saturday against Liverpool should give us a chance to focus on our execution but we can't take anything for granted based on their 99 point defeat last weekend. Although we won the two games against Huddersfield in reasonable comfort, both games showed that we need to tighten up in certain areas if we're going to challenge this season.

Our defensive intensity needs to improve and our communication is something that we need to work on in the next few weeks. I challenged the players on court in the 4th quarter at Huddersfield to talk more on defence and it's something that really needs to get better.

The game on 2nd Round National Cup game Sunday is a different prospect altogether. Mansfield came down from Div 2 at the end of last season but have recruited in the off season and are desperate for a quick return to the higher division. Hopefully, we will have something to say about that at the end of the season but for now, I'm looking forward to what should be a competitive game this weekend.

Laterz, innit.
First League Win!

Hey,

Well we got our first league win of the season and overall it was a good team performance, everyone played well I think. Again, it was a close first half and then in the second we pulled away.

They hardly had any players due ti injury and then Jamie Loftus got his 4th foul quite early and so from then on they struggled with out height of Pawel and Rik. We could have won by much more but we ran our bench and also Swaine got 38 points with some awesome shooting.

Big weekend this weekend, double header with the 2nd round of the Cup vs Luna Mansfield Stars who are also unbeaten.

Tilly

Well, we have the first league game of the season this weekend vs Huddersfield and they are really going to want to beat us after we beat them by 35 2 weeks ago. It should be another tough match as was the first one in the first half. We will have a tough practice 2nite and then hopefully be ready for the game.

Come on Saints!!

Tilly

Alright fellas!!
Good win at the weekend!! Nice to get off to a winning start but we need to continue this in the league starting in 10 days time! I'm sure we will be fine but we need to get ourselves into gear and get the offences learnt asap!! We just need to try harder in training and think more because lastnight was a bit of a shambles. We have 3 more sessions to get things sorted and am confident that we will do it!

Roll on Saturday. Not sure when the battle commences but I have heard rumours (or Mr Law mention its in the pub for the 12:45 kick off!! There will be no excuses from anyone so I'll expect everyone to be there!!

See you all Thursday.

p.s. The answer is...........Don't pay her!!

Hey there,

We had our first game this weekend. It started out very close and both teams were playing hard and although there were 3 refs not many fouls were being called.

I enjoyed the match and it was good to get back into it. I and I think everyone felt that they needed a bit more practice but I'm sure we will all click and start getting on the same page soon enough.

We still have some more guys who have signed up so we have a deep bench this year and plenty of people to come and play. Should be really enjoyable and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

We play them again in 2 weeks so should be an interesting one.

Tilly

New Season Underway

Well, here we are at the start of a brand new season. I know Platten and Purnell have been right on the edge of their seats all summer waiting for another dose of coach's corner so here it is guys.

We knew that Division 3 would be pretty tight this season with the best teams coming up from Div 4 to join what was already a competitive league, so we've recruited well over the summer and added some strength in depth. Rick Marsh and Kinsley Elmer have both signed for the Saints, although Kingsley is unavailable for our first game against Huddersfield tomorrow. Pawel Szafraniec has joined us from the Sheffield Arrows and Eugene Andrew, a former team mate of many of the Saints players, has signed from Huddersfield. We've also added Gene Brown, Tim Hampton, Tom Hope, Adam Kerrigan, and Gary Bywater who will all hopefully make an impact in their first season with us.

It will take a while for us to gel but we are confident that we can have a good start to the season and integrate the new signings quickly. Huddersfield in the cup will be a tough test to start the season but it should be a good game down at All Saints. Tip of is tomorrow (Sat 29th Oct) at 6pm.

Laterz, isn't it.
